DM50 FAQs
As with the personal post franking machine, we have included the FAQs regarding the DM50 franking machine.
What happens if I want to cancel?
DM50™ 30 Day Trial Guarantee!
If you are not completely satisfied, simply let us know within the trial period. We’ll pick the equipment up at our cost, terminate the agreement and refund any additional unused postage. Remember - you only pay for any additional postage or supplies you use (an initial ‘postage deposit’ (see below) is required to set up your postage account).
What is the Postage Deposit?
The DM50™ operates Postage by Phone which is a prepaid facility. You hold an agreed deposit balance with Pitney Bowes that reflects your typical monthly mailing costs. As and when you download postage we collect the difference to ensure the balance is kept at the agreed level.
For example, if your agreed deposit balance is £200, we will automatically collect £200 from your account. When you download postage we will collect the difference to ensure your balance is maintained at £200, ready for your next transaction. Each time you use this, the Postage Reset fee is charged.
Please note that you will require an analog telephone line to use this service.
What is the Postage Reset fee?
The postage reset fee is the charge made to use our Postage by Phone system.
You will not be charged a fee for your first POSTAGE RESET. Thereafter, each POSTAGE RESET will be charged at £4.84 +VAT.
What do I get with my 30 Day Free Trial?

(again – available from the Post Office free of charge).
I send a lot of parcels – they’re too large for the Post Box. Where can I post them?

Pitney Works
Reccently Pitney Bowes decided to launch a new domain called Pitney Works. We are currently unsure as to the reason for this, but with the changing times in the franking machine market then sometimes relaunches are a good thing.

What is a franking machine?
The modern day franking machine has changed from the franking machines of yesteryear. The modern version of the franking machine is electronic. You simply put your post onto the free scales and then simply weigh and depending upon the franking machine that you have, you can either print the postage amount onto a label, or onto your actual envelope or parcel.
You save on average 11% using a franking machine, than what you would do using stamps from the post office. You can simply take out the free trial for thirty days with no obligation, so you can see if it benefits your business or hobby. You honestly have nothing to lose and with £20.00 free postage, you have around 76 first class envelopes that you can send for free.

Why should we consider a franking machine?
If your business relies on mail shots, or indeed just sending out letters day in and day out, a franking machine saves you a lot of time and hassle at the post office. Imagine this scenario, you send about 100 letters per day to your clients, and potential clients. You bulk purchase stamps, which are rising all the time in price, thankfully you don’t have to lick the stamps anymore, but for example you use one stamp at a cost of 37p for a first class letter, now if you was using a franking machine, then you would pay about 35p, saving you 2p per envelope, plus having free business advertising and of course looking more professional.
You can use this free trial with no obligation to your business. You have £20.00 worth of free postage and whats more, if it doesnt benefit your business model, you can simply return it within 30 days without any fuss.
If you do send out a bulk amount of enevelopes everyday then the fact that your saving money, every time that you send out an envelope covers the cost of the rental so if your in the bulk mailing industry in the end you will be saving your business money each and every day.
Try it, it’s free, what have you got to lose?
