What happens if I want to cancel?
DM50™ 30 Day Trial Guarantee!
If you are not completely satisfied, simply let us know within the trial period. We’ll pick the equipment up at our cost, terminate the agreement and refund any additional unused postage. Remember - you only pay for any additional postage or supplies you use (an initial ‘postage deposit’ (see below) is required to set up your postage account).
What is the Postage Deposit?
The DM50™ operates Postage by Phone which is a prepaid facility. You hold an agreed deposit balance with Pitney Bowes that reflects your typical monthly mailing costs. As and when you download postage we collect the difference to ensure the balance is kept at the agreed level.
For example, if your agreed deposit balance is £200, we will automatically collect £200 from your account. When you download postage we will collect the difference to ensure your balance is maintained at £200, ready for your next transaction. Each time you use this, the Postage Reset fee is charged.
Please note that you will require an analog telephone line to use this service.
What is the Postage Reset fee?
The postage reset fee is the charge made to use our Postage by Phone system.
You will not be charged a fee for your first POSTAGE RESET. Thereafter, each POSTAGE RESET will be charged at £4.84 +VAT.
What do I get with my 30 Day Free Trial?
DM50™ comes complete with a starter pack containing an ink cartridge, 50 labels and 20 metered mail envelopes. You will also receive £20 of postage credit to download onto the machine.
Is it true that it is now cheaper to send mail by using the DM50™ Franking Machine?
Yes it is - From 21st August 2006 Royal Mail have introduced metered mail discounts - that means it is now at least 2p cheaper to send a piece of 1st or 2nd class mail.
What About Mail being sent abroad?
Yes – mail being sent abroad can be sent in the same way as UK mail. Please remember, if you are sending parcels you need to mark them as such and add an Air Mail sticker (available free from the Post Office) and a Customs Declaration form if the item is being sent outside the E.U. (again – available from the Post Office free of charge).
I send a lot of parcels – they’re too large for the Post Box. Where can I post them?
You will need to deliver these to your local Post Office. The Post Office will provide colour coded bags (free of charge for 1st Class, 2nd Class and International mail) to place your parcels and mail into. Most Post Offices have an area where you can deposit these without having to queue. Please check with your local Post Office for further details.
I have Recorded/Special Delivery mail – do I have to take this to the Post Office?
Yes – you will have to hand these over to the counter staff at your local Post Office as they have to log receipt of the item/s for you.
What time can I download postage onto my DM50?
Our data centre is open 6 days a week between 7.00am and 8.00pm.
What if I frank the wrong amount - can I get my postage back?
Yes – you can obtain a claim form by contacting Royal Mail on 08457 740740
